Feel free to say yes to “etageres”. They consist of a series of “stages” or shelves. Many of them like this one actually have separate stackable sections. This is handy when you’ve moved into a different space and you have to reinvent its format. Separated these could work as low shelving units or even coffee or end tables. They’re as hard-working as “milk crates” were without that “frat house” stigma. Not that I ever used these often surreptitiously procured open plastic cubes in primary colours …Richard wouldn’t allow it (even then).
