To Re or not to Reupholster

Vintage Dining Chairs at Glam Vintage & Moderne

Richard refreshed this set of Georgian dining chairs by using a coral linen fabric.  To be honest when Richard bought these chairs I was on the fence.  I thought the doohickey  on the top of the chair back was too fussy.  This flashy bold print makes the doohickey less conspicuous.  I love the chairs but I still can’t stand the fact that Richard was right.

Obviously cost is a major consideration in the “whether to reupholster” question but the bigger question is whether the “bones” of the piece are worth saving.   A second opinion from an interior decorator (like say Richard) can help you decide if it’s trash or treasure.

A client chose this bright geometric pattern to put a new spin on this honey coloured arts and crafts Morris chair.

A picture truly is worth 1000 words.
