Sectional Sofa by Statum Design available at Glam Vintage & Moderne
Retailers deal with open concept spaces all the time, but this architecture is relatively new to most homeowners. Take a page from a store’s decor book and create several vignettes within the open concept space to create interest and warmth. Dividing the space with dressing screens or shelving can close the space and defeat the look. A sectional like this fabulous contemporary piece from Canadian manufacturer Statum Designs along with an area rug can define the “living room” portion of your open room.
One of the perks of this configuration is the close proximity to the kitchen area for munchie replenishment. The fabric chosen for this sectional is Bella Granite which feels like buttery suede but wears like the polyester it is…perfect for dropping food and drinks on.
Down Sectional with Faux Chinchilla Throw at Glam Vintage & Moderne
This is a rare occurrence at Glam Vintage & Moderne. Richard has actually discounted this fabulous “down” sectional because he needs the space for a big vintage piece.
This quality Canadian custom sectional is upholstered in a hard-wearing neutral aubergine polyester blend that works well with almost anything including on trend greys and mauves AND sloppy pets and family.
I am very familiar with this sectional as I own one in another colour. The down filling makes it comfy cozy and the built-in chaise makes me feel like a princess as I recline on it after a long hard day of social networking or shopping.
I think I’ll need to buy that faux chinchilla throw to complete the picture. “Queen for a Day”.

Off-white sofas and sectionals are on trend and work anywhere.
Cowardly parents and dogparents will order Glam’s Canadian made sofas in another shade even though the fabric is polyester and cleans easily with a damp sponge and a little “Dawn”.
These off-white sofas will always look sleek and elegant with their “perpetually tidy” bench seating – a calm serene anchor against nearby busy furniture and accessory patterning.

Tuxedo Sofa from Statum Designs at Glam Vintage & Moderne
Relatively inexpensive area rugs, pillows and draperies in eye-popping colours can be purchased with reckless abandon when all you have to do is match them to white.
Even my partner could do that but then I’d have to get a real job.
Crushed Velvet Convertible Sectional at Glam Vintage & Moderne
The first time I ordered a sectional, I did it by phone. I’d seen it in Toronto, came home to Frankford (the wild turkey capital of Ontario), measured my room and ordered it with the chaise on the “wrong” side. I was mortified…there was no fixing it. So I am delighted to see this glamorous silken sectional is convertible. You don’t have to know which side you are going to “dress” on. Just flip the “chaise cushion” over and trade it for the cushion on the right then slide the ottoman to the right hand side and voila…your chaise is on the right. Or would that be the left…do you look at it from the back or the front? See how handy this is?
