White sectional Architectural Digest April 2013
Off-white sofas and sectionals are on trend and work anywhere.
Cowardly parents and dogparents will order Glam’s Canadian made sofas in another shade even though the fabric is polyester and cleans easily with a damp sponge and a little “Dawn”.
These off-white sofas will always look sleek and elegant with their “perpetually tidy” bench seating – a calm serene anchor against nearby busy furniture and accessory patterning.

Tuxedo Sofa from Statum Designs at Glam Vintage & Moderne
Relatively inexpensive area rugs, pillows and draperies in eye-popping colours can be purchased with reckless abandon when all you have to do is match them to white.
Even my partner could do that but then I’d have to get a real job.
Tailored Linen Sofa from Statum Designs at Glam Vintage & Moderne
Some clients want their couch to be a big enveloping soft plush bosom they can flop into…not unlike a backwards “snuggie”.
Others appreciate the sleek lines of tailored linen on firmer cushioning. The couch is still comfortable but not like a cocoon that is hard to get out of. Richard encourages clients to actually test drive their sofa and chair choices by going to his Toronto manufacturer for a “seat or a flop”.
Fabric Selection at Statum Designs
Whether you are lying down or eating popcorn on your sofa, worry not as most fabrics are actually polyester that you can spot clean with mild detergent. Problem for most of us is “the paralysis caused by being faced with a decision to choose one of literally thousands of fabrics” also known as “becoming overwhelmed”.USE Richard (like I do) to help chose the fabric, once you have put the biggest decision “behind” you.
While the rest of the world was tossing coins into the Trevi fountain, I was across from it trying on Italian leather shoes. Of course an Italian leather jacket from a high fashion house would have been preferable, but I opted to go to the Trevi where I could do both… sightsee AND shop.
Wing Chair by Statum Designs at Glam Vintage & Moderne
Back on planet earth…I mean here in Canada, I can again have the best of both worlds. I can relax while surrounded by Italian leather on a quality Canadian made chair.
Statum Design has pared down the classic wing chair and covered in soft Italian black leather so it would even work in a more contemporary decor. Great occasional chair for a den, bedroom, dining table,…my house…
